Osprey Consulting is once again proud to be nominated as The Official Secretariat  for the upcoming Legal and Medical Symposium 2005  on the Island of Mykonos

Following on from the success of The Greek Conference 2004 the primary aim of events such as this are the promotion of the ideals of Hellenism and Greek Culture. It is being staged by a not-for-profit organization, to promote the ideals of Hellenism and Greek Culture.  The organization was formed in 2002 by its founding convenor and current Chairman, Eugenia Mitrakas; a well known identity in Australian legal and community circles and within the Greek society. 

The organization's Chairman, together with its Australian Convenors (including The Hon Professor George Hampel QC), Honorary Academic Advisor, Professor Stathis Gauntlett and its Greek Committee under Professor Spyros Marketos will ensure a balanced academic, professional, business and cultural program relevant to all professions and callings and consistent with the theme of the Conference.              

Our Convenors and Committees are in the process of finalizing the professional program.  Full details of that program and our exciting initiatives will be published shortly, and will include:                  

Keynote speaker – Professor Peter Doherty AC, the 1996 joint-winner of the Nobel   Prize for Medicine.

Following on from the consideration of ethical issues in Crete and at a time when the concepts of justice and democracy are both developing and suffering, “what makes a just society” will be a challenging issue to discuss in Mykonos.

We aim to bring together current issues of relevance in law, medicine and other professions. Topics will include obligations and rights; access to justice, medicine and education. We will discuss issues in privacy and the right to know, informed consent, developments in the relationships of change (including medical and bioethical changes) and economy and the roles of our institutions.

I encourage you to join us in Mykonos and to be involved in these intellectual challenges, mixed with fun and friendship.
